日経linux 2009.7

BeagleBoardの記事があるので買ってはみたものの、ちょっと期待外れの内容でした。
PCを作るためにBeagleBoardを使うのではないと数ヶ月前、筆者は言っていたのに、最強PCを作るなんて、なんか方向がぶれているような気がしました。しかも、…慣れている人でなければ少々てこずるので、...作成済みのツリー・アーカイブを付録のDVD...って、こんなところで作業を端折るユーザはそもそもbeagleboardを使っていないと思うんだけどなぁ。この記事を読んでもカーネルカスタマイズの方法が載っているわけでもなし...。DSPの話は、カスタムkernelを起動できるようになった後の話なのに。。
どっかに起動できるカーネルの作り方の記事が書かれていないかなぁ?

ケースつくり

送料が高くてあきらめたケース購入ですが今回は作ってみました。
ケースは、これ。3.5インチフロッピーやMOのケース。

debian インストール再び

前回debianのインストールまで行いましたが、QEMUでは時間がかかったため、今回はQEMUを使わない方法で行いました。
今回もここ。

PC(debian)にSDカードを刺す。(/dev/sdcで認識されるものとする。)
http://code.google.com/p/beagleboard/wiki/LinuxBootDiskFormat を参考にSDをフォーマットする。
マウントされたらumountでマウントを解除する。
fdisk /dev/sdcで、
 一旦すべての領域を削除する。
 SDカードのジオメトリセット:header:255,sector:63,cylindersは、
 #cylinders = FLOOR (the number of Bytes on the SD Card (from above) / 255 / 63 / 512 )So for this example: 2021654528 / 255 / 63 / 512 = 245.79. So we use 245 (i.e. truncate, don't round).
 のとおりで、fdiskを実行した最初に出てくるDisk /dev/sdc: xxxx MB, xxxxxxxxxx bytesの
 xxxxxxxxxxを上の式に当てはめて、小数点以下を切捨てし、cylindersにセットする。
 プライマリ1番に50M程度でtype=c(W95 FAT32 (LBA)),BOOTフラグONをセットし、writeしてfdiskを終了。
mkfs.msdos -F 32 /dev/sdc1 -n LABEL1でフォーマットする。
/dev/sdc1を /media/LABEL1/にマウントし、

までを行い、PCからSDカードを抜きbeagleboardに刺す。
PC側debianで、minicon(115200 8N1,ハードウェアソフトウェアのフロー制御をともになし)を起動
シリアルを監視しながら、
以下のように、PC側debianでbridge-utilsを導入し、beagleboardとusbポートでつなぐ。
Internet--router--eth0:PC(debian):usb---usbOTG:beagleboard
                 L usbToSerial-----------serial

beagleboardのブートで、自動ブートを止め、以下を実行。
setenv bootargs 'console=ttyS2,115200n8 ramdisk_size=8192 root=/dev/ram0 rw rootfstype=ext2 initrd=0x81600000,8M'
saveenv
boot

ネットワークインストールの準備として、PC側debianで以下のコマンドで、ブリッジを作成。

ifconfig eth0 0.0.0.0 up
ifconfig usb0 0.0.0.0 up
brctl addbr br0
brctl addif br0 eth0 usb0
ifconfig br0 up
dhclient br0
(PC側debianここまで)
で、後は、beagleboardのdebianインストーラを最小構成でセットアップする。
次回のbeagleboardの起動では、ubootでブート時に
setenv bootargs 'console=ttyS2,115200n8 root=/dev/mmcblk0p2 rootwait rootfstype=ext3 ro'
saveenv
boot
で起動する。
起動準備が終わって以下のように、表示されたら終わり。

PCにSDカードをさし、
/dev/sdc1(uImageなどが入っているmsdosフォーマットのパーティション),/dev/sdc2(linuxが入っている、ext3のパーティション)をそれぞれtar czpfでバックアップする。

SVideoの線がやっと抜けた

1回S-Video端子にコードをさしたら、抜けなくなった件、思いっきり引っ張ったら抜けました。
抜けた直後のbeagleboardの状態はこんな感じ。

わかりづらいかもしれませんが、S-Videoのコネクタ、上の部分がちょっと飛び出ています。
多分S-Videoを刺した時に噛んじゃって、抜いたときに一緒に出てきたものと思います。
この状態から、まずは出っ張ってる部分をいっぱいまで外側に引き出した後、ニッパでちょっとずつ切ってから、ヤスリでとがった部分を削り、最後にラジオペンチでもう一度内側へ折り込みました。
S-Videoも生きてたし、S-Videoをつないでもちゃんと線が抜けるようになりました。

beagleboardでS-Videoが抜けなくなった人って他にいないのかな?

beagleondebianとりあえずログインできるもの

今回は、debianを導入し、曲がりなりにもログインできるところまでです。
不備はいっぱいありますが、とりあえず作業記録を記します。

次以降はqemuを使うので、x-window上で実行する。(qemuの操作の際、qemuウィンドウからフォーカスを外すと処理が止まることが多々あったので、qemuを利用するときは、フォーカスを変えない/スクリーンセイバー無効にしておく。)
